Hirali is an exclusive brand created by Takeno Senko in Osaka, a city where the traditional Japanese Wazarashi industry has thrived since the Edo period. Founded in Sakai City, Osaka in 1961, Takeno Senko specialises in double-sided dyeing using our unique roll printing technique. This method, utilising dyes, is the only one of its kind in Japan and can only be achieved at our factory.

-Hishi no Hana-
The "Hishi no Hana" (water chestnut flower), which blooms with white flowers from July to August and is often used as a seasonal word for summer, has a yellow centre and four white petals. This beautiful colour combination is reflected in the design of this textile. The pattern is inspired by the traditional motif known as "Iriko-bishi" (interlocking diamonds).

-Kasane no Irome-
It refers to the traditional Japanese concept of colour layering.

In Japan, the rich seasonal changes create beautiful landscapes and nurture people's aesthetic sensibilities, leading them to incorporate nature's colours into their clothing.

Hirali reinterprets this Japanese colour culture, creating Tenugui that express seasonal hues with integrated designs, adding colour to daily life.

• During production, a food-safe natural starch is used. Before first use, wash off the starch with warm water; some colour bleeding may occur.
• The fabric may shrink over time due to its nature.
• Traditional dyeing methods can cause colour fading. If the fabric is left wet or soaked for long periods, colour transfer to other items may occur.
